Traditionally, this card is represented by an empress sitting on a throne with a crown on her head and a scepter in her hand. The crown has 12 stars that represent her connection to the natural cycle. She can also be depicted in a forest which signifies her connection to Mother Earth.

The Empress also represents maternal influence and is known to be one of the strongest pregnancy cards within the deck, which makes this card our pick for May.

If this card is presented upright to you and you’re single, it means that serious love and relationships are coming your way. If you’re in a relationship, it means that your relationship will grow deeper.

Sex is also associated with this card due to its connection with pregnancy. So if you’re trying for a child and see this card, you may be in luck! If not, then make sure you’re using protection.
